Just a few images from the total solar eclipse on 8/21/17
Below are a few of my better images, but first is a real-time video of the total eclipse. It's 3:14 long, with the exciting parts at the :17 mark and again at the 2:50 mark. I keep finding myself going back to this video to marvel at what was truly a once in a lifetime event.
For the record the video was shot with a GoPro Hero 6. It actually makes the darkness a bit more extreme than it really was, but other than that it is a great chronical of a remarkable few minutes.
The still images were captured with a Canon EOS 7D Mark II camera with a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM lens mounted on a Canon Extender EF 2X III.
